Requirements for Participating Students

2+2 Bachelor's Double Degree

Students in their second year can apply for the program, and from their third year onwards, they will study for two years of undergraduate courses at Swansea University. Upon graduation, they will receive two bachelor's degrees from both universities.

This program provides students with a platform to pursue master's studies at world-leading institutions. With the academic experience and bachelor's degree from Swansea University, students will have an advantage when applying for master's programs at universities ranked in the QS World University Rankings Top 100 or Top 50.

4+1 bachelor's to master's program

Fourth-year students can apply for the one-year master's program at Swansea University, and upon successful graduation, they will receive a master's degree from Swansea University.

This program offers a seamless transition from undergraduate to master's, with a short one-year duration, cost savings, and the flexibility to apply across disciplines. It also has good employment prospects. After graduation, students can choose to continue pursuing a doctoral degree.

Joint Master's Degree Program (1+1 or 1+1+1 structure)

First-year or second-year master's students can apply for the one-year master's program at Swansea University. Upon successful completion of the program and meeting the graduation requirements of both universities, they will receive master's degrees from both universities.

This program allows students to obtain two master's degrees—one from each university—within two years for a two-year master's or within three years for a three-year master's, which is more advantageous for future employment. After graduation, students can choose to pursue a doctoral degree and gain priority for admission.

Undergraduate Exchange Program (one semester or one academic year)

Undergraduate or master's students can apply to study an undergraduate or master's program at Swansea University for one semester or one academic year. Upon successful completion, students will receive a transcript and credits from Swansea University, which can be transferred as equivalent credits to the corresponding semester at Nanchang Hangkong University.

Students in this program will attend classes alongside local British students and have the freedom to choose courses in related fields of study. They can also participate in various sports, cultural, and sightseeing activities, broadening their horizons and enriching their life experiences.

2.A UK master's program is typically one year in duration.

4+1 Bachelor to Master's, 1+1/1+1+1 Master's Dual Degree Programs:

1.University average score of 75 or above;

2.IELTS or internal test:

Business, Economics, Computer Science, Translation (Chinese-English) and Language Teaching majors require an overall score of 6.0, with no individual score below 5.5.

Engineering, Translation, Journalism, and other related majors require an overall score of 6.5, with no individual score below 5.5.

TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), Law, Education, and other related majors require an overall score of 6.5, with no individual score below 6.0.

Psychology (cross-discipline applications accepted) requires an overall score of 7.0, with no individual score below 6.5.

Note:1.Students who do not meet the direct entry IELTS requirements can attend Swansea University's language course in advance.

2.TOEFL, PTE, and internal university tests are also accepted as proof of English proficiency.

3.Living Expenses:

Accommodation Fee: £136-185 per week (depending on the type of accommodation).

Living Expenses (including accommodation): Generally around £9,000-£10,000 per year.

f.Swansea University Program Application Timeline and Process:

Timeline:

1.Application Period: From now until April 30, 2025.

2.Visa Processing: July-August 2025.

3.Start of Classes: September 22, 2025.

We recommend that students submit their application materials as early as possible (English language test scores can be submitted later). The earlier you apply, the sooner you can receive an offer, which will allow ample time for accommodation applications, language course applications (if needed), visa processing, and other preparations.

3.Once the Swansea University offer is received, the Swansea University Representative Office will notify and guide you through the subsequent procedures.

Swansea University Online English Language Test (SWELT)

Swansea University offers an online English language test (SWELT), which can replace the IELTS and be used for applying to undergraduate and postgraduate programs or language courses, as well as for visa applications. Students who submit applications or receive an offer will be exempt from the first test fee for the SWELT.

English Language Course (Academic Pre-sessional Course)

If a student's English proficiency does not meet the entry requirements for undergraduate or postgraduate programs, they may take a language course.

Upon completion of the course, students can enter the formal program without needing to take the IELTS, as they will be assessed through the university’s internal language test.
